In Thailand, it is illegal to leave your house without wearing underwear. This law was put in place to promote hygiene and prevent indecent exposure.

In Japan, it is illegal to be overweight. The government has set a maximum waistline size for citizens over the age of 40, and those who exceed the limit are required to attend weight loss classes.

In Switzerland, it is illegal to flush the toilet after 10 pm. This law was put in place to prevent excessive noise and disturbance to neighbours.

In Sri Lanka, Taking Selfies in front of idols of Lord Buddha or wearing Buddha tattoos in Sri Lanka is illegal. Doing so is considered mistreatment of Buddhist images and is quite a serious offence in the island country.

In France, it is illegal to name a pig Napoleon. This law was put in place to protect the honour of the country’s former emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte.

In Denmark, it is illegal to start a car without first checking for sleeping children underneath. While this law may seem strange, it was put in place to prevent tragic accidents.

In Australia, it is illegal to wear hot pink pants after midday on a Sunday. This law, which is specific to the state of Victoria, was put in place to prevent offensive clothing.

In Canada, it is illegal to release more than 10,000 helium-filled balloons into the air within an hour. This law was put in place to prevent environmental damage and protect wildlife.

In the United States, it is illegal to hunt camels in Arizona. While this law may seem silly, it was put in place to protect the state’s population of feral camels.
