Fatima Al-Fihri, a remarkable woman in history, is best known for founding the University of Al Quaraouiyine in Fez, Morocco, in 859 AD. This institution is recognized by UNESCO and the Guinness World Records as the oldest continually operating degree-granting university in the world.
