Music is my first love – Babahkay

He was influenced by his uncle, his mother’s younger brother – the late Ras Kimono. Even though he is an accomplished M.C., actor and stand-up comedia, Kingsley Ndubhokwu, aka Babahkay, says music is his first love.

“If you’re not performing you’re not making money. If you’re not making money, you’re broke and if you’re broke, it affects the economy”, Babahkay says of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy. He tells Breakfast Connect that the pandemic has led to a new world which means, “you have to understand what it takes to survive (in this new era).”
The performer also criticised the Nigerian creative arts industry for practicing “wuru-wuru to the answer” and urged practitioners to pay more attention to detail.

Babahkay says he is working on two major projects which are set to drop soon.
