On the show, We journey to South Africa, talking specifically about sustainable aviation fuel otherwise called SAFs. The local production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) would bring major economic and social, as well as environmental benefits to the country because SAF is low-carbon, alternative fuels which are typically made from bio-based feedstocks such as energy crops, wastes, and residues. They can also be produced from fossil waste such as carbon monoxide-rich industrial waste gas. So why should South Africa invest in local sustainable aviation fuel products? Nonso Mordi speaks to Farai Chireshe, an Energy Analyst and Project Officer at WWF South Africa.
